This project aims to study the culturally appropriate and sustainable habitat planning of the Innu communities of Nitassinan and the Inuit communities of Nunavik, which face significant challenges to their living environments.
It will consider the Northern native habitat by examining the aspects that give it meaning and guide development.
Research is thus focused around three specific elements of the habitat: the communities (the human and socio-cultural components), the living environments (the spatial and material components) and governance (the administrative and political components).
