June 1st, 2017: SHQ Colloquium – Innovation in Construction and Planning in Indigenous Communities
On June 1st 2017, the Living in Northern Quebec partnership will hold a colloquium as part of its annual general meeting in Uashat mak Mani-Utenam (Shipit). This symposium aims to share the expertise of Indigenous and non-Indigenous professionals and builders on a variety of themes related to housing design and the development of culturally appropriate communities. It also seeks to broaden reflections, which are to be included directly in the framework and activities of the partnership for the next three years.
The four themes covered are:
Urgent issues in communities : Planning, construction, development;
Housing: Respecting cultures and territories;
Innovation and construction;
Governance and mobilization.
