// Visit in Quaqtaq and presentation of the Living Northern Quebec at the KRG Council

Geneviève Vachon and Myriam Blais, of the School of Architecture at Université Laval, and Frédéric Gagné, Deputy Director of KRG, presented the Living in Northern Quebec partnership to the KRG Council on June 2nd, 2016 in Quaqtaq. The representatives of all 14 villages and Kawawachikamach (Naskapi nation) manifested a lot of interest in the research objectives and in the development of concrete visions for future housing environments. Many wish to learn more about the partnership. Geneviève will travel to Nunavik in early Fall to continue this conversation with the Inuit communities.

While in Quaqtaq, Geneviève and Myriam visited the house prototype built on piles, realized as a collaboration by Société d’Habitation du Québec (SHQ), EVOQ Architecture (Alain Fournier), Makivik Corporation and Kativik Municipal Housing Board (KMHB).
