À l’hiver 2016, 4 étudiants de la maitrise en design de l’environnement de l’UQÀM sont partis dans le nord de la Finlande pour participer au Arctic Design Week (ADW) à Rovaniemi, Laponie. Lors d’un voyage de presque 3000km sur les routes enneigées finlandaises entre Helsinki et le Cercle Arctique, le groupe a documenté d’importants projets de design nordique sur de nombreux détours le long du chemin. De plus, les étudiants ont aussi participé à des rencontres et atelier avec des urbanistes, designers et des représentants de l’Institut d’Éducation Sámes ainsi que du Musée Sámes de Inari, Laponie.
In the winter of 2016, 4 students from UQÀM’s Masters of Environmental Design program travelled to Northern Finland to participate in Rovaniemi’s Arctic Design Week (ADW). The group travelled almost 3000km on snow-covered roads from Helsinki all the way up to the Arctic Circle documenting important northern design projects along the way. In addition, students were also able to participate in meetings and workshops with city planners, designers as well as representatives of the Sámi Educational Institute and the Sámi Museum in Inari.
